Job Summary:
- Oversee restaurant staff to achieve objectives in sales, costs,
employee retention, and guest satisfaction.
Assistant Manager duties:
- Promote the Gaslight Group culture and brand.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintain a safe and respectful working environment.
- Support management actions and decisions.
- Ensure guests receive responsive, friendly, and courteous
service.
- Prepare and serve food and products according to restaurant
standards.
- Perform various financial activities, including cash handling
and payroll.
- Achieve company objectives through training and creating a
positive work environment.
- Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area
cleaning.
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality,
service, or accommodations.
- Control inventories and report shortages.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient
service and conformance to standards.
- Coordinate services, such as waste removal and pest
control.
- Prepare required paperwork, including forms, reports, and
schedules.
- Perform personnel actions, including hiring, terminating staff,
and providing employee orientation and training.
- Develop staff in managerial and professional
development.
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business
activity.
- Analyze operational problems and implement creative
solutions.
- Perform some food preparation or service tasks, such as
cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when
necessary.
- Conduct meetings and collaborate with other personnel for menu
planning, serving arrangements, and related tasks.
- Fills in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest
service standards and efficient operations.
Job Requirements:
- Several years of experience in restaurant front-of-the-house
operations and/or management.
- Strong bar experience is a plus.
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale
system.
- The ability to manage a team.
- The availability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and
holidays.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving
skills.
- Exceptional self-discipline.
- The ability to think on your feet and act intuitively.
- The ability to stand on your feet for 8 hours, lift up to 50
lbs., bend, and reach.
- Stamina and availability to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
