General Manager plans and directs all restaurant operations while
maintaining high standards of food, guest service, health and
safety. The Rooftop General Manager ensures maximum profitability
and efficient performance of the restaurant and the optimal
utilization of staff and resources. The Rooftop General Manager is
responsible for exemplifying The Rooftop's culture as well as
promoting the whole property as both the Destination and Employer
of Choice!MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, &
auditing food, beverage, & service offerings; initiating
improvements; & building relationships with preferred patrons.
Ensures competitive advantage by identifying & maintaining
knowledge of competitors' offerings. Accomplishes company goals by
accepting ownership for spearheading new & different requests, &
exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Understands & meets overall restaurant business objectives set
forth by senior leadership.
- Ensures the restaurant meets or exceeds all regulation &
compliance standards required by South Carolina Alcohol Beverage
Licensing, Department of Health & Environmental Control, Department
of Employment & Workforce, & all other applicable agencies.
- Maintains quality of operations by preparing policies &
standard operating procedures; implementing production,
productivity, quality, & patron-service standards; & determining &
implementing system improvements.
- Works with Avocet marketing department to attract patrons by
developing & implementing marketing, advertising, public &
community relations programs; evaluating program results;
identifying & tracking changing demands.
- Assists with budget development, cost analysis, & financial
reporting. Develops & implements creative strategies to increase
revenues. Manages beverage & supplies inventories ensuring
competitive pricing through vendor management. Monitors business
volume forecast & plans accordingly in areas of labor,
productivity, costs, etc.
- Accomplishes restaurant people & culture objectives by
recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, & disciplining staff;
communicating job expectations; monitoring & reviewing job
contributions; & enforcing policies & procedures. Ensures all
aspects of bi-weekly payroll including, but not limited to tip
allocations, position codes, & paid time off are correct & payroll
is submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional & technical knowledge by tracking
emerging trends in the restaurant industry; attending educational
workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing
personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; &
participating in professional societies.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure guest
satisfaction & safety.Note that this is not an inclusive list &
managers are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best
serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the property
General Manager or other senior managers.WHAT WE HAVE TO

- $65,000 to $70,000 annual salary depending on experience
- Annual bonus opportunities up to 20%

RESPONSIBILITIES:25-30 front-of-house staff, both full- and
part-timeJOB REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Degree in hospitality management a plus.
- At least 5+ years of restaurant experience. At least 2-3 years
of experience in restaurant management.
- TiPS and/or ServSafe certification a plus.Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth working knowledge of alcoholic & non-alcoholic
beverages; of food preparation & presentation.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills with guests,
team members, & management. Strong interpersonal & interaction
skills.
- Able to promote customer service & focus amongst staff. Proven
servant leadership mentality & management skills - able to
effectively lead & develop team members. Strong interpersonal &
interaction skills.
- Ability to multi-task, delegate, resolve problems, handle
conflict, perform, & make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent computer skills; Proficiency in restaurant POS &
Inventory applications.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles including cost &
payroll control, budgeting, & analyzing financial data.
- Able to forecast & strategically plan for business needs
relating to both inventory & staffing. Proven ability to maximize
profitability & proficiency of the operation with a high degree of
quality.WORKING CONDITIONS:Equipment to Be Used:

- Various kitchen equipment and beverage equipmentPhysical &
Mental Requirements:
- Ability to work varied schedules from week to week based on
business demands in excess of 40 hours including holidays &
weekends with flexibility in schedule from time to time with
minimal notice.
- Must be able to cope with frequently changing priorities &
deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism &
collaboration.
- Must be able to stand & walk 8+ hours. Frequently required to
sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, & crouch.
- Regularly required to talk & hear. Requires normal range of
hearing & vision.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle, feel, & reach.
Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard computer
equipment.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds; push & pull equipment,
supplies, etc., at least 30 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant
noise, without the use of a private office.
- Fast paced, high volume restaurant and bar. Open air, partially
covered, subject to all weather conditions.
- High guest interaction, involving varying conditions and
circumstances with guests, team members, and managers.
- While primarily stationed in The Rooftop outlet, will also move
through and work in other areas of property including other
restaurant/banquet outlets, storage areas, kitchens, guest areas
and office spaces.The working conditions described are
