  • Government contract opportunities PreOp Registered Nurse West Ashley Medical Pavilion (WAMP), MUSC Health Charleston Preop/PACU RN Shift Details: Will work 4 x 10 hrs. 6:30 am - 5:00 pm or 4 x 10hrs. 5:30 am - 4:00 pm (willing to flex as the need arises) with no weekends, no call, no nights, and no major holidays Weekend REQ: No Is on-call REQ? No Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? May be required to float if needed Open to accommodating block schedule? Not at this time/weekly day off Years of experience REQ: 1yr experience required First-timers accepted: No, must have travel experience Certs REQ: ACLS, BLS License REQ: SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license Local radius: 60 miles Locals accepted: Yes, at 10% less than the posted bill rate RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility's needs. Multiple RTO requests within a 8-13 week contract will be denied. Guaranteed Hours: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks, hours may be broken down to equal one shift WAMP Preop/PACU room is currently comprised of 10 RNs, 1 PCT. There are 20 bays for our pre/post patients, 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural room. The pre/post RN is responsible for prepping patients prior to surgery by reviewing history, reconciling home medications, obtaining vital signs, obtaining EKGs if applicable, starting IVs, possible FSBS, hanging IV fluids/antibiotics, PO meds and premeds as ordered. Recovery of post anesthesia patients include monitoring patients vital signs through phases of post anesthesia care, and reviewing discharge instructions as well capability to discharge patients via wheel chair to vehicle. Unit cares for variety of patients and different services to include: Orthopedics (total joints, arthroscopy cases, hand cases, shoulder & elbow cases), Interventional Radiology (VIR), & GI (upper and lower scopes). The pre/post RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR nurses to provide safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced environment. **Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year.
