Job Description SummaryMUSC BMT and Cellular Therapy Program:
MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is South Carolina's leader in blood and
marrow transplantation and cellular therapy. MUSC's program is the
only combined adult and pediatric FACT (Foundation for
Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) accredited Blood and Marrow
Transplant (BMT) Program, and Hollings Cancer Center is the only
NCI-Designated Cancer Center in the state. In pursuit of delivering
safe, high-quality, compassionate care, this program has been able
to deliver outcomes that are among the best in the country through.
In 2022, the program completed 199 total transplantations and will
exceed that number in the 2023.

BMT and Cellular Therapy RN Coordinator is responsible for
participating in the coordination of patient care across multiple
areas (outpatient, inpatient, and community) throughout the Blood
and Marrow Transplant & Cell Therapy process, including: the
ongoing assessment, and evaluation of patients preparing for and
undergoing Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Immune Effector
Cell (IEC) therapy. The BMT and Cellular Therapy RN Coordinator is
also expected to serve as a clinical resource for other team
members, patients/family/caregivers, referring case managers, and
community clinicians.Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's
degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a
minimum of three years related clinical nursing experience
required; direct hematology/oncology, blood and marrow transplant,
or cellular therapy nursing experience preferred. Master of Nursing
(MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in lieu of BSN. In
addition, the applicant must have considerable knowledge of complex
medical terminology and advanced disease processes, strong
interpersonal skills, ability to delegate to appropriate personnel,
ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships both
internally and externally, strong organizational skills, ability to
rapidly prioritize/reprioritize, strong verbal and written
communication skills, ability to work autonomously and in teams,
critical-thinking skills, and ability to multi-task. Licensure as a
registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a
compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for
Healthcare Providers certification is required. ONCC Nursing
certification preferred. CITI Training required within 1 year in

lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of
force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required
from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push
a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is
required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
