Overview:The Full-Time Medical Assistant works with a Podiatrist who provides services in the long-term care setting.This position requires extensive travel in the designated Charleston, SC TerritoryTravel mileage reimbursement is provided.PART-TIME:A leading provider of podiatry services to long term care industry in Florida is expanding rapidly. In order to continue providing the highest level of service, we are looking for an exceptional person to join our administrative team in South Carolina! This position will help patients feel at ease with the podiatrist. Additionally, the individual will work with other members of our staff to provide the highest level of customer service to our facilities, patients, family members, etc. This FULL-TIME position works out of the - Charleston, SC TerritoryResponsibilities:Assists the physician during examsPrepares patients for examinationVerifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical historyConfirms purpose of visit or treatmentCompletes records by recording patient examination and treatmentGenerates revenues by recording billing information of services renderedProvides superior customer service to our doctors, facilities, and their resident/family membersBe part of a team that is committed to providing quality, quantity and reliability each and every dayOther Responsibilities:Adheres to the policies and procedures of the companyMaintains strict confidentiality of client, company and personnel informationDemonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organizationAdheres to company attendance standardsPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneQualifications:Strong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail orientedAbility to multi-task and work in a diverse environmentEducation and/or Experience:One (1) year healthcare experience preferredElectronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Medical Assistant Certification preferredNursing and/or Podiatry Assistant Certification requiredComputer Skills:Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookEnvironmental Factors/Physical Demands:Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone.May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor.
