Full Time Stock Clerk / Utility

The purpose of our Stock Clerk / Utility position on our Healthcare Culinary team at Bishop Gadsden (James Island) is to complete tasks related to the cleaning of equipment and dishes used during food services. - This team member will also receive and inspect products to ensure quality and quantity compliance, help control food waste through proper dating and rotation, maintain the cleanliness of dry storage and refrigeration areas and assist management with day to day operations.
A Typical Day:

• 
  
• 
  Keep floors, counters, walls, dish room, and service area immaculately clean and in order.
  
  
• Use cleaning and sanitizing agents according to directions and general principles of safety and sanitation.
  
• Clean and put away all dishes and pans in an efficient and safe manner
  
• Remove trash to dumpster, replace trash can liners as necessary and break down boxes
  
• Check and record temperatures as needed to successfully complete required duties
  
• Assist with proper and sanitary food storage at close of meal service
  
• Work independently with proper direction
  
• Check and record dishwasher machine temperatures and sanitation levels as required to ensure DHEC compliance
  
• Receive and inspect products to ensure quality and quantity compliance
  
• Help control food waste through proper dating and rotation
  
• Alert Sous Chef of upcoming expiration dates
  
• Keep walk-in coolers organized and sanitary
  
• Keep the dry storage rooms organized and sanitary
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • At least eighteen (18) years of age
    
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, crouch, crawl, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
    
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and team member
    
  • 
    Physical strength capable of lifting 50 lbs.
    
    
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP regulations.
    
  • Firm understanding of safety practices for handling hazardous chemicals (MSDS).
