Job Description SummaryThe Infusion Nurse in Hollings Clinics
reports to the Unit Manager. Under general supervision, the
Infusion Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care
to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the
principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and
effective care and interacts with other members of the health care

Hollings Clinics reports to the Unit Manager. Under general
supervision, the Infusion Nurse provides individualized,
goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the
competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the
nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts
with other members of the health care team to achieve desired
outcomes.Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or
after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing
are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two
years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the
RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more
details. A minimum of two years of work experience as a registered
nurse required.Licensure as a registered nurse by the South
Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life
Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American
Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA
recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for
Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Current
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification issued by Oncology Nursing
Society required if independently double-checking
chemotherapy.C)ontinuous = 6-8 hours per shift; (F)requent = 2-6
hours per shift; (I)nfrequent = 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to
perform job junctions while standing (C), while sitting (I), while
walking (F). Ability to climb stairs (I); work indoors (C); work
from elevated areas (I); work in confined/cramped spaces (I);
perform job functions from kneeling positions (I); bend at the
waist (F); twist at the waist (F); squat and perform job
functions(I); perform 'pinching' operations (I); and fully use both
hands/arms (C). Ability to perform repetitive motions with
hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (F), ability to fully use both
legs (C), Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel)
for respirator use, initially and annually.Ability to lift and
carry 50lbs. unassisted (I). Ability to lift/lower objects 50lbs
from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted (I). Ability to lift
from 36" to overhead 25lbs (I). Ability to exert up to 50lbs of
force (F), examples include: To transfer a 100lb patient that
cannot assist in the transfer requires 50lbs of force. For every
100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another
healthcare worker. 20lbs of force is needed to push a 400lb patient
in a wheelchair on carpet. 25lbs of force is required to push a
stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain vision
20/40 corrected (C). Ability to see and recognize objects close at
hand or at a distance (C). Ability to match or discriminate between
colors (C). Ability to determine distance/relationship between
objects; depth perception (C). Good peripheral vision capabilities
(C). Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (C).
Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor
movements (C). Ability to deal effectively with stressful
situations (C). Ability to work overtime as required (F). Ability
to work in a latex safe environment (C)Computer literacy, ability
to work rotating shifts, provide extended leadership coverage as
needed, ability to learn and use new processes, tools equipment as
